Bryan Rutberg enjoyed a 20-year corporate career, building customer and partner relationships at Hewlett-Packard, McKinsey & Company, and Microsoft. In roles spanning sales, field and product marketing, alliance management, and corporate communications, he effectively positioned brands, products, and initiatives to drive emotion and action, delivering value and growth across organizations.

As a consultant, Bryan helps companies and nonprofits create the right messages for their unique audiences and improve their business communications skills. He has worked with leaders with global brands and has helped entrepreneurs prep for investor pitches and media interviews, corporate videos and TEDx and South-by-Southwest presentations. Clients have ranged from authors preparing speeches for book tours to non-profit executives who want to tell their organizations’ stories better.

His consulting work has included interim CMO engagements; leading customer, partner, employee, and investor messaging initiatives; developing programs and culture to capture customer voices for better business planning; training sales, marketing, and customer support professionals in communications and relationship-building.
Words and language have always been Bryan’s passion. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Georgetown University, and an MBA with a Marketing concentration at the Kenan-Flagler School at UNC, Chapel Hill.

Bryan and his wife live with their two dogs in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood, getting used to an empty nest now that their two children are in college. He has chaired and served on nonprofit boards and enjoys fundraising. Bryan is a wanna-be ski bum in the winter and delights in long sunny days during Seattle summers. He wishes he knew more about whiskey and gets lost in political blogs and tech news when he’s reading for pleasure.
